This scabiosa is another perennial which survived last year’s summer and is blooming again now!

Last summer, when I filled in the spots in the container garden with gaura, scabiosa, and coreopsis, I had such luck–they all survived the summer to continue blooming this spring!

In past years, I’ve often treated perennials as annuals–not all of them, like echinacea and rudbeckia, will last through the Indian summer into the next year.

The success of last summer’s perennials encourages me to keep on trying! You never know when plants will thrive!
