It’s early spring, and we’ve had a few hints of hot weather. But tomorrow the clouds will roll in and we’ll smell rain.
Nevertheless, I’m dreaming of cosmos. A few summers ago, dozens of cosmos plants self-seeded through the garden, and the butterflies and I were happy! Texas crescents loved them especially. And in the fall, the goldfinches were so happy with all the seeds!
I think that might by why they didn’t self-seed as heavily the next year: the finches ate all the seeds! This year, I’ll plant them myself.
In fact, next time I head to the nursery, I’m picking up a few seed packets!
